The cyclical warming debate

Published in: Our Life — by InvisibleMinority on 3.01.2007.

Almost a year ago I had to write about the global warming. Not beacuse I am so interested in it but because the media bombarded me with sensational news… (see the linked article).

Here is the newest on ABC News — Report: Big Money Confusing Public on Global Warming. It might be even true. If the amount of money (profit or potential loss) is big enough, humans are capable of everything… who knows, maybe even to cause global warming. My only concern is [as I noted a year ago] the other side of the coin: pro-warming groups are also funded by “big money” - just with different interests, different agenda. All I wish is the hysterical media would present both sides of the story.

Now, I am not going to link here fundamentalists sites that are vehemently denying anything and everything related to the greenhouse gas emission or whatever has the word “warming” in it. That would be too cheap. However, I’ve looked around in Wikipedia. You can trust it: according to some recent news it is becoming as accurate as Britannica. At least they have an article about the Global Warming Controversy! The article is long and quite scientific. I am afraid those who digest TV news will not be very interested in it or, as a prominent scholar said: “nonscientists generally do not want to bother with understanding the science”. This quote is from Richard Lindzen’s article. Yes, I admit, he is an opponent of the global warming theory but I enjoy his style. Most zelous activists are boring, and as a former journalist, I prefer class and elegance in writing. This is my choice. Yours can be entirely different…

Source: Carol Bentley’s blog. Read about a very elaborate credit card scam when they already have all your data, including your card number… except the little PIN code on the reverse of the card. Don’t fall for this trick!

Source iknownil: He is right. The students are in debt for many years, the government workers are overpaid and they rarely are up to their tasks, the taxes are high. Very high. I even wanted to comment on his blog but I never do that if the stupid “you must be logged in to comment” is in effect. No wonder nobody is commenting on that blog. People don’t like registering just to post a short comment…
